Mario Bros.
The first game we chose for this project is the arcade game Mario
Bros. Since it’s a less popular game from a time before Super Mario
became a franchise, we thought it would be fun to go back to basics and create
something unique for it. The core mechanics have the player running and jumping
to defeat enemies and clear rooms. Bringing the setting of the game to real
life through an alternative controller would beneficially immerse players in
the game world and further inspire cooperation, such as using a wrench to turn
a bolt (using a potentiometer) as plumbers would.

Feedback Prompts:
- Would
you rather use a single-player or multiplayer controller?
- Would
you rather play with interacting with an enemy design or one from the
environment?
Fireboy & Watergirl in the Forest Temple
For our second game, our team chose Fireboy and Watergirl.
We thought this would be a great game to explore the aesthetics of for its
elemental time and co-op potential. The core mechanics have both players work
together to move, jump, collect gems, and solve puzzles to escape each level.
Using an alternative controller to further cultivate co-op could focus on the
thematic nature of the fire and water of the game, as well as co-op.

Feedback Prompts:
- Would
you rather have a controller themed around the gems or doors of the game?
- Would
you be interested in seeing the levers in real life?
