Scaffolding Concept Review (Plants vs Zombies/Tetris)

The first game I am considering would be Plants vs Zombies. My motivation for working with this game would be the simple mechanics and UI being very easy to navigate. I think the game also could use a unique alternative controller to make it more immersive. This would create more interaction than just navigating a UI to place plants. You can actually control this game with a fake plant I figured! The game has only a couple simple outputs to playing. What other sensors would you add to my designs? I am stuck on using only a couple and can't think of anymore to add or change to make my controllers more unique.

The second game I considered is Tetris. I grew up playing Tetris on all types of consoles such as the Game boy, Playstation and Xbox 360 and even my phone now! This game I always thought needed an alternate way to play other than the default keyboard and mouse or a screen with buttons for placing simple blocks. I thought engaging with different human senses could transform the game. Adding sound design to putting down a block in a high stakes match could create a much needed tension the game lacks. Would a light sensor being added have any unique benefit to any of these designs?
