Faith: The Unholy Trinity

Faith: The Unholy Trinity is a survival horror game where you play as a priest who is on a mission that was not sanctioned by the Vatican in order to finish the exorcism that he started a year prior. The only tools that are at his disposal is a cross and he comes across many letters along the way that gives insight into the overarching plot that is happening across the three chapters. Each chapter has multiple endings, however there is only one true good ending for each that must be found by finding the notes and solving the mysteries that unfold.

I wanted the controllers to come from something in the game or feel like it would make it more immersive or fun to control.

Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic the Hedgehog is a game originally made for the Sega Genesis that is a high speed platformer intended to be played multiple times in order to find the fastest way of traversing each stage. The character Sonic is known for running very fast and collecting rings which are used in order to take hits without losing a life. There are also bonus stages that can be accessed to collect Chaos Emeralds in order to get the best ending at the end of the game.

I chose to use items that you would come across in the game for controller ideas, but also thought about using a shoe to basically control the movements almost like you yourself were running as Sonic.

Questions: Are there better mappings for some of the controllers that would fit the item more? Is the shoe practical in design?
