Evolings and Pong Controllers

Pong
One of the themes between my two games was I wanted to choose games with simple control schemes, and avoid ones with a mouse input so that hopefully with those limitations i could get more creative in my design space.
Pong is an old game with siple controls, so it fits the design I wanted. I also thought it would be fun to have the majority of my sketches also part of the theme of the games, so for Pong, that includes the top image, which uses the accelerometer control while the Circuit playground is on a ping pong paddle, along with the middle image, which controls the up and down of pong by bouncing a ping pong ball into red solo cups to activate inputs, inspired by the party game colloquially known as Beer Pong. The cups have a hole cut in the bottom and a ramp so they roll back to the player similar to arcade basketball hoops. The last  controller has a 3d printed ear and controls the Up/Down with the sound detector because i thought it would be funny.
What's the best way to get inputs from throwing the ping pon balls in the cup?
Is sticking with the pong theme a better idea than going left field with the ear controller?

Evolings
Evolings is a super fun Pokemon-Inspired roguelike, but the controls only use WASD to navigate menus, and the enter key, so i thought it would be a great candidate. The left  controller is based of the character from the game, Sparkle, and is controlled by the accelerometer inside the sphere shaped character. the enter is a light in the standing plate, where putting the character on the bright light is the enter key while also keeping it from rolling away. the second one uses the haptic tocuh on alligator clips to act as a WASD by touching Sir Pickle's hands, and the enter key would likely be the stem on top, as a button. The last one has the sound input as as an enter key for a light spinning around the NeoPixels, and where the light is when the player yells submits that as a control input for WASD. the buttons switch the light spinning direction. Flashing a light is the enter key for now.
What is a better input for the enter key of the Spinning wheel one? (this is also a reference to the gambling wheel of the game)
Can i use a button on top of Mr. Pickle because of the theming? is it worth 3d Printing him?
