Prototype Review: Cuphead

This controller design is for the game “Cuphead” on PC from Steam. I wanted the controller to feel like the player is really taking control of the character given the game’s context. As of right now, I do not have everything installed that I would like. So far, I have a Circuit Playground with a sensor with the sound for shooting, lights for still shots, and a front button for jumping. I still need to add more to the controller to get functions like Dash, the EX shoot, and the “switch weapon”. I will also need to add a battery pack so that the controller does not need to stay connected to the computer. One that was recommended to me was using a capacitive touch area. I feel like I could use that on either the handle of the mug or use it on the rim to simulate the player drinking. To add these, I will need to make the model of the cup bigger.

One of the biggest issues I have is when it comes to the light sensor. From where the circuit playground is, it is a little hard for light to get in.

What would you guys recommend I do for the light?
What “switches” should I add to fit the missing functions?
