Our unconventional switch is designed as a mini ‘basketball-like’
game. The goal is to toss the metal ball into the bucket and complete the
circuit.
The circuit has a 5V power supply. It runs through a 100 ohm
resistor to comfortably power the blue 3V LED. The circuit has a break within
the bucket where alligator clamps are hooked to 2 pieces of aluminum foil on
each side. Once the ball lands into the bucket, the electricity flow continues,
and the LED lights up, indicating you have score your goal.
The ultimate purpose of the system is to track when a player
has an accurate enough shot to land in the bucket and provide feedback for
success.
We also have a bonus catapult device as an added layer to
the fun minigame theme. Shoot it from a distance and achieve a goal without needed
to directly touch/handle the ball in the process.
